Greetings Everyone,

Here is what’s new in the musical world of Alam Khan.

I am happy to announce that I recently received the “Creative Work Fund” Grant for a project titled “Karuna Supreme”. This will involve me as principal composer and performer, along with Sitarist Arjun Verma, composer Jack Perla, the Del Sol Quartet, and Nilan Chaudhuri on multi-percussion. This project will enable us to create a true integration between both Indian and Western Classical and contemporary forms through Sarod, Sitar, Percussion, Western orchestration and Quartet. We have begun to compose for “Karuna Supreme” and it’s safe to say that we are all very excited to share this music with you all. Stay tuned for updates on performances, musical releases and more.

On the “Grand Tapestry” front, we are steadily creating new music to release and perform in 2019 which I cannot wait for. More info to come on releases and concerts.

Last but certainly not least, I am so touched and honored to have led the second gathering of “The Works” at AACM. “The Works” of Maestro Ali Akbar Khan is truly incredible and needs to be experienced in person. To all of you that have participated so far, thank you for joining us in making history at AACM. The next gathering will be on March 8th . For more info please visit our school’s website at www.aacm.org.

That’s all for now. Take care and talk to you soon.
